Olaria de São Pedro

Founded in 2007 the Pottery of St. Peter is the showcase of Sonia Borga's atelier. In Óbidos, Sintra and Lisbon the Pottery of São Pedro proposes contemporary ceramics of several Portuguese authors. Creative ceramics, small-scale craft productions that mark their uniqueness and genuinely manual character.

"At the age of 20 I discovered clay, could create with my hands, give birth ..... I wanted to be a ceramist !!

In my atelier, drawing, I give shape to the objects of my world ... the will transforms the clay with textures and colors that are the reflection of the joy with which I work each one of these small works.

I have the idea that objects, created with dedication, are born to occupy a place in space and time, and someone, when he finds them he realizes that they are for him"

Brief Biographical Note

Sônia BORGA, born in 1970 in Angola, lives from a very young age in Caldas da Rainha.

In 1994 he established his ceramic workshop in Tornada - Caldas da Rainha, a project that is still in use today.

Graduate in Ceramics and Glass Design at the Superior School of Arts and Design - Caldas da Rainha, Portugal

In 2006 she installed the shop / gallery Olaria de S. Pedro in Óbidos "a space dedicated to promoting the ceramics of

2013 Opening of new space in Sintra-Portugal.

2016 She attended a jewelery course at the Lisbon Jewelery Center.
